In the news, the Pine Ridge Reservation is often described as a place of poverty and despair. But at Red Cloud, we believe that—no matter what they face in their lives—our students can and will achieve their dreams. And every day, we focus on providing them with the kind of education that will allow them to fulfill those dreams—whether that means becoming a musician, a nurse, or an engineer, opening the reservation’s first veterinary clinic, or learning to teach the Lakota language.
We are believers in their ability to succeed. And with a 94 percent graduation rate that soars above the national average, they are proving us right.
